At the S.I.T. Foundation, we believe that people who are connected to other people do not fall through the cracks. Today we are proud to share our 2024–2026 Impact Statement, a look back at three years of building that belief into something real, and a look ahead at what comes next.
For a century, America has built crisis infrastructure. It is necessary, and it is not enough. Upstream of so many crises sit the same two conditions: loneliness and emotional dysregulation. Our work is designed to reach people before crisis, through in person events that blend music, art, and education, root partnerships with organizations already doing transformative work, and a research program that measures whether connection actually changes outcomes.
2024: The Foundation Year
Our first Amped Up benefit concert brought roughly 150 participants, eight bands, and four individual artists together in Columbia, South Carolina for six hours of live music, with one message: no one should have to reach a crisis before someone will listen. Amped Up is now an annual anchor event. That same year we began our research partnership with the University of South Carolina IIT Capstone Program, competed on The Blox and joined its alumni network of more than 2,500 entrepreneurs, and were featured twice on WIS TV.
2025: The Build Year
Across four consecutive Capstone semesters with the University of South Carolina, we built an integrated operating and research platform designed for scale from day one, ready to support volunteers and measure emotional well being at the community level, with consent and privacy at its core. In the community, twenty young people wrote and recorded original songs through our workshop with the Princess Empowerment & Boyz II Men program. We supported the formation of AmplifiHER, a women’s empowerment music collective, and stood beside our root partner Adaptive Surf Project at two landmark events. We also seated our Board of Directors and finalized bylaws that protect the founding mission and ensure Call the Moms and Dads never goes dark for administrative reasons.
2026: The Growth Year
We enter this year with a research instrument built, a board in place, partnerships in motion, and Call the Moms and Dads, our sister organization’s free volunteer run listening line, set to launch in 2027. This is the year we build the community around the line before the line goes live. That includes the vision for the S.I.T. Community Endowment Fund, a standing resource to help individuals and families meet financial needs early, before they become isolation and stress.
By the numbers:
4 USC Capstone semesters completed
20 young people wrote and recorded original songs
2,500+ entrepreneurs in The Blox alumni network
150 participants, 8 bands, and 4 artists at Amped Up
No organization in this space has built an instrument to answer where isolation and distress concentrate at the community level, and whether connection reaches people before crisis infrastructure has to. We have. Now is the point where the community decides how far this work goes, and we are seeking the founding funders and partners who will help carry it through the 2027 launch.
